   Compulsion took me by surprise. The magic in this book was so interesting and mysterious. Throughout the whole book you are left in the dark as to why Barrie has these special powers and what really lies on Watson Island. I was hooked once I fully connected with the characters. It took me a little while to connect with Barrie, but I finally connected with her and the story really opened up to me. However, I instantly knew I was going to love Eight. He was so infuriating that it was cute, if that is possible. I hated Cassie with a passion. I never liked her even at the start. However, I adored Eight and Barrie. There is just so much about this book that I love that I can't explain it all. The paranormal aspect of this book truly shocked and blew me away. I was not expecting the paranormal atmosphere that I got in this book.

   Compulsion is a book that will keep you questioning everything and wonder what will happen next. I loved the story behind Watson Island and the mystery it holds. The story had me sucked in and also terrified. I was on the edge of my seat through most of the second half of the book.  (Note to self: don't read this book at night. I did, and I was jumping at every random sound I heard.) I admit, I got emotional at the end. I just got so attached to Barrie and Eight that I felt what they felt. It was surprising how attached I got to them. I still have questions and fears about this book, but I hope they will be rectified in the next book! This book is full of adventures and it was a thrill ride, I assure you. Compulsion is an amazing book for all of you ghost, spirit, or paranormal lovers out there. I loved it and I can't wait for the next book! I give it four out of five stars!
